“I moved from Galloway to Sussex this summer..and then got a public art commission for Scottish Natural Heritage…in Galloway! The brief was to make a piece of functional sculpture for the nature reserve & visitors centre at Cairnsmore of Fleet. “Cloud Seat” was carved from four planks of 3″ thick green oak & then assembled on a wooden frame. I wanted to capture the energy & movement of the place & create a focal point for visitors to enjoy the landscape. Having moved away from Galloway, after 12 years living & working there, it is nice to have left a piece of my work behind.”
